In California, this is a good walk around lens. My previous experience with Tamron let me know this would be a good lens to get. They have always had a good macro lens and their customer service and support is very good. When I go shooting, I am walking and do not want to carry around a big bag and keep changing lenses, so this became my go to all in one when I am out traveling. The lens produces very sharp images at both ends of the zoom range and the vibration compensation works well. I would recommend this lens as a walk around for others. I am very satisfied with my purchase.

This lens tries to do everything and it accomplishes that goal for me said a recent purchaser. The zoom is super and the auto compensation for vibration is excellent. Looking through the viewfinder, I can tell that the lens is locked on my subject and that I am ready to shoot. It is fast and responsive to my needs and is great at shooting all the macro stuff. The speed allows for some interesting shots. Sure, there are better lenses, but for everyday use, this one will do everything you need or want and for a whole lot less money.
